Ever Wonder What Pokemon Would Look Like in a Dark Souls Game? Terrifying and Diseased, I Assure You

While I’ve never played any of the Souls games, such as Dark Souls or Bloodborne, I’m well aware of the qualities that are ascribed to them, such as being impossibly difficult as well as featuring some truly astonishing creature designs. The meme “Git gud” has become popularized by these games, which are punishing and relentless towards players, forcing them to die over and over again in order to learn the patterns of their enemies. Personally, I kinda dig the idea of these games and will probably try them out when I have some free time but that’s not in the foreseeable future.
Another game series that I never dove into was Nintendo’s Pokemon. For starters, it became popular during that weird time in childhood where certain things are cool and others aren’t. Secondly, it just didn’t hold any interest for me. I’m not usually a collector in video games, so making a game that is all about collecting things doesn’t sound like something I’d be into. That being said, I can’t deny how incredibly influential the series has been for gamers for the past couple of generations. There’s no denying that it’s a massive hit and it deserves all the respect its gotten. It’s certainly earned it.
Artist Jess Burns (aka Jess Jackdaw) decided to mix these two seemingly oppositely styled games to see what the end result would be. In short? It’s the stuff of nightmares and they fit PERFECTLY into the Dark Souls/Bloodborne universe! Check them out below and make sure to give Jess a follow on Instagram for more horrific art.
