Killer Klowns From Outer Space Score Being Rerecorded With a Live Orchestra
The 80’s sci-fi B-horror flick Killer Klowns From Outer Space will always have a special place in my heart. While my parents wouldn’t let me watch A Nightmare on Elm Street or Friday the 13th, for some reason they thought that a movie about killer alien clowns wasn’t a big deal, so I was allowed to play our VHS copy pretty much whenever I felt like it. As a result, I watched that movie probably dozens of times, to the point where I could recite it nearly line for line at any given moment.
Considering how much I love the movie and how much I’ve grown with music being a core part of my life, the news that composer John Massari is rerecording the score using a live orchestra simply fills me with joy. Originally recorded electronically, Massari is bringing the music back and it’s going to sound bigger than ever!

Per Massari, there will be a crowdfunding campaign launched in April. Additionally, the recording sessions will include appearances from Bear McCreary (“Battlestar Galactica”, “The Walking Dead”) as well as The Dickies, the band who wrote the theme song to Killer Klowns From Outer Space.
Below are several videos that interview Massari as well as show footage of a Warner Brothers Studios session that is simply electrifying!
Now, all we have to do is wait for a sequel!
