Mondo has announced that they will be opening up pre-orders for their vinyl edition of Akira Yamaoka’s Silent Hill soundtrack on Wednesday at 12pm CST. The release features artwork by Sam Wolfe Connelly and it will come on “Snowfall” colored vinyl. It will be $30. You can see the artwork and the vinyl itself in the pictures below.

Originally released in 1999, Konami’s Silent Hill has become one of the most recognized survival horror franchises in video game history. It uses heavy amounts of psychological horror to bring about feelings of absolute terror. For many, the comparison they used was, “Resident Evil is to Aliens what Silent Hill is to The Shining.” I always found that to be a very apt description.

As a longtime fan of the Silent Hill series and an even bigger fan of the music, I’m definitely going to be picking up a copy of this!
