Exclusive Event Photos: Women In Horror Celebration Signing at Dark Delicacies
Exclusive to Dread, here’s a handful of photos from the February 12th second annual Women in Horror celebration at LA’s house of macabre, Burbank’s Dark Delicacies (3512 W. Magnolia Blvd., Burbank, CA).
Well attended, those on hand were artists Melissa Krimsky (who provided a special makeup effects demonstration) and Jacky Belle, along with Creepy Gothic Dolls owner Bastet2329 and horror actresses Elissa Dowling, Michelle Tomlinson, Rachel Grubb, Tara Cardinal, Mo Whelan, Eileen Dietz, Dai Green, Reyna Young, Victoria Del Mare, Monique Parent and Brooke Lewis. Filmmaker and “Face Off” reality star Frank Ippolito turned out to support, as did Mike Mendez, Kevin Tenney and a slew of others.
Speaking with Dread during the signing and food drive (the horror industry turned out in droves to assist in refilling local food banks following the holiday rush), Lewis (who while a ‘scream queen’ has made the jump to film producer on such titles iMurders, Miss Vampy and the feature Slime City Massacre, which bows on DVD May 10th through Media Blasters), said of her current projects, “I’m currently working on Vamp It Out over at Illusion Industries with Todd Tucker, which is my Elvira-esque Halloween family comedy special. It’s my baby which I’m producing and starring in. As an actress I’m attached Julia Davis’ Room and Board with Burt Reynolds, Tippi Hedron, William Katt and Kane Hodder, which is a horror film we are going to shoot down in New Orleans this year. I’m also doing Anthony Sant’Anselmo’s Mondo Holocausto with the guys over at South Park. I’m so excited about that one. It’s a throwback to the old Italian horror films with Felissa Rose, Richard Tyson, Noah Hathaway and James Duvall.”
Visit Dark Delicacies online for more information on the signing and others, including their upcoming The Last Lovecraft: Relic of Cthulu DVD release event with director Henry Saine, writer/star Devin McGinn, Kyle Davis, Barak Hardley, Gregg Lawrence, Ethan Wilde and Edmund Lupinski, which takes place on February 19th.
