The Predator Goes Practical
CGI has come a long way, and truth be told, I don’t even mind it too much anymore. That being said, I, like many, do prefer my creatures to be comprised of practical effects, and that’s just what we’re getting in Shane Black’s The Predator.
Recently Black took to Twitter to answer a fan’s question regarding the use of CG for the Predator.
I am standing on set next to a 7-foot tall gentleman in a Predator suit — so no, it is not all CGI.

As reported earlier, we’re now looking at an August 3rd release for the film, which stars Thomas Jane, Edward James Olmos, Sterling K. Brown, Trevante Rhodes, Boyd Holbrook, Jacob Tremblay, Olivia Munn, Alfie Allen, Yvonne Strahovski, Augusto Aguilera, and Keegan-Michael Key.
Black is directing from a script by Fred Dekker. John Davis, Joel Silver, and Lawrence Gordon — who produced the original — are producing.
