Casting has begun for ABC’s “Poe”, and when you’re looking to solve heinous crimes dealing with the macabre, who better to bring aboard than a dude from “CSI: Miami”?

According to Deadline Leslie Odom, Jr. (pictured below) has landed a role in “Poe” to play Julian “Jupiter” Noble, a doctor at a free clinic who helps Poe with his bedeviled duties.

“Fringe” and “Terra Nova” director Alex Graves will be handling the directorial reins for “Poe” for its first episode.

Penned by Chris Hollier for Warner Bros. TV and Lin Pictures, “Poe” is a new crime procedural TV series that will follow Edgar Allan Poe, the world’s very first detective, as he uses unconventional methods to investigate dark mysteries in 1840s Boston. It’s described as Sherlock Holmes with a hint of “X-Files” and “Moonlighting”.

Shooting begins March 14th in Toronto.
