DreadVision Enters The Gate In May

PG-13 horror. That phrase can turn the stomach of many horror fans.

Back in the day, however, a few horror gems slipped through that don’t suffer from the curse that many modern PG-13 horror releases are hit with.  One of them, maybe the best of them, came out in May, 1987.

It’s been 30 years since the tale of a cursed heavy metal record, a hole in a backyard, and tiny demons attacking three young people hit the big screen.  In honor of this 30th anniversary, our selection for DreadVision in May 2017 is The Gate!

Remember how I said we’ll now be on the 2nd Tuesday of every month?  Well, we’re making an exception this time, for very good reason.  This month, DreadVision will be on the 3rd Tuesday of the month, May 16th, at 9pm.  Why?  We’ve managed to track down a 35mm print of the film, so you’ll be seeing it just as it appeared all those years ago if you saw it when it was released in theaters.  The thing is, we can’t have the print ready in time for the usual time slot, so we’ve bumped things by a week to be able to give you this incredible opportunity.

Another big exception this month: we won’t be giving away a Box of Dread.  Because this month’s DreadVision lands right after the almighty Texas Frightmare Weekend, I’ll be bringing a special Texas Frightmare Weekend prize pack chock full of swag from the con for whoever wins this month’s challenge.  Autographed merch, collectibles, t-shirts…who knows what wonders I’ll acquire for one lucky winner?

All of this goes down at the Alamo Drafthouse in Richardson, TX, as always.

As always, it’s TACO Tuesday, so tickets are only $5 and tacos are on the menu!  Seats are still available but going fast for this very special screening, so head over to the Alamo Drafthouse website and pick them up now!
