Evil Dead 2 – Remake or Sequel Debate Put to Rest

Back in October of 2016, we had Ted Raimi on Brainwaves: Horror and Paranormal Talk Radio, and we asked him the magic question… Is Evil Dead 2 a remake or a sequel? If you fast forward to about the 1-hour-and-14-minute mark of the episode, you can hear Raimi’s confirmation that, yes, “It is a remake.”

Also from last year, a video has surfaced featuring star Bruce Campbell, in which The Chin himself acknowledges that the film is a “requel,” both a remake and a sequel.

So, no matter what you call it, it is pretty clear that the brain trust behind the film thinks of it as a remake; and that’s good enough for us.

Case closed!
