Academy Award Winner Trent Reznor to Score and Put the Bite on in Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter
We still remember the first time we heard “Head Like a Hole”. Friggin’ blew our minds, man. All of a sudden Trent Reznor and Nine Inch Nails exploded onto the scene, and the music and film industries have benefited ever since.
Now an Oscar winner, Reznor is apparently setting his sights on one very pretty neck. According to Badass Digest Reznor will be providing the score to the film adaptation of Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter – and he’ll be appearing as the vampire who kills Lincoln’s mom as well.
If this does go down, he’ll be appearing opposite Ben Walker, Dominic Cooper, Anthony Mackie, Jimmi Simpson, and Mary Elisabeth Winstead.
Timur Bekmambetov will direct from Seth Grahame-Smith’s adaptation of his own novel. Tim Burton and Jim Lemley will produce. Fox is aiming at a June 22nd, 2012, release.
Book Synopsis
When Abraham Lincoln was nine years old, his mother died from an ailment called the “milk sickness.” Only later did he learn that his mother’s deadly affliction was actually the work of a local vampire, seeking to collect a debt owed by Lincoln’s father. When Abe learned the truth, he vowed revenge and kept one passion hidden throughout his life: the brutal elimination of all vampires. His valiant, bloody fight against the undead was all but lost to history, until Grahame-Smith stumbled upon the secret journal of Abraham Lincoln.
Using the journal as his guide, Seth reconstructs Lincoln’s life story and uncovers the role vampires played in the birth, growth, and near-death of our nation. You don’t know Abe. Honest.
