Dario Argento’s The Stendhal Syndrome Getting Limited 3-Disc Blu-ray Remaster
Blue Underground has announced that they will be releasing a limited collector’s edition of Dario Argento’s 1996 horror film The Stendhal Syndrome, which was Argento’s highest grossing film in his homeland of Italy.
The 2k restoration was done from the original, uncensored camera negative and will be presented for the first time ever in its proper 1.85:1 theatrical aspect ratio. The package will include the film on Blu-ray and the extras will come on two DVD discs. The street date for the collection is July 25th, 2017.
Directed by Argento, The Stendhal Syndrome starred Asia Argento and Thomas Kretschmann.
Synopsis:
When beautiful police detective Anna Manni follows the bloody trail of a sophisticated serial murderer/rapist through the streets of Italy, the young woman falls victim to the bizarre “Stendhal Syndrome” – a hallucinatory phenomenon which causes her to lose her mind and memory in the presence of powerful works of art. Trapped in this twilight realm, Anna plunges deeper and deeper into sexual psychosis, until she comes to know the killer’s madness more intimately than she ever imagined.”
