WWI Horror Game Ad Infinitum Gets a Creepy Batch of Screenshots
There haven’t been many updated on the first person World War One survival horror game Ad Infinitum since last year, but developer StrixLab‏ recently took to Twitter to reveal some deeply unsettling new screenshots. All these images were taken from the pre-alpha demo, so it shouldn’t be too long before we see more footage of the game in action.
Powered by the Unreal Engine 4 and set deep in the trenches of the First World War, Ad Infinitum (it’s Latin for ‘forevermore’) will focus on stealth and puzzle solving gameplay over action as you try to avoid horrific creatures which have somehow appeared on the battlefield in addition to enemy soldiers.
A release on consoles have not been confirmed as of yet, but it will definitely be heading to Steam when it’s done.
Synopsis
Ad Infinitum is an atmospheric single-player horror game, which puts you into a World War I setting seen through a first-person perspective.
You find yourself in the trenches of a forlorn battlefield where your are being hunted by vicious creatures. Solve puzzles to clear pathways and sneak through trenches to hide from vicious creatures. Avoid dangerous threats and try to escape this world of pain and death.
The surrealistic setting is based upon historical background information that was used as an inspiration to create the game world.
