The CW Renews Both iZombie and The Originals
With “The Originals” and “iZombie” both heading toward their season finales on June 23rd and 27th, respectively, and with The CW’s Upfront presentation taking place next week, the network has announced renewals of both shows, which should be some comfort to those fans of “The Vampire Diaries” and “The Originals” who have been clamoring for a reunion between Klaus and Caroline.
“The Originals” (which will be returning for Season 5) is from Bonanza Productions Inc. in association with My So-Called Company, Alloy Entertainment, Warner Bros. Television, and CBS Television Studios. Julie Plec (“The Vampire Diaries,” “Kyle XY,” “Wasteland”) and Leslie Morgenstein (“The Vampire Diaries,” “Gossip Girl”) are executive producers. The series stars Joseph Morgan as Klaus Mikaelson, Daniel Gillies as Elijah Mikaelson, Phoebe Tonkin as Hayley Marshall, Charles Michael Davis as Marcel Gerard, Yusuf Gatewood as Vincent Griffith, and Riley Voelkel as Freya Mikaelson.
“iZombie” (which will be returning for Season 4) is based upon characters created by Chris Roberson and Michael Allred and published by DC Entertainment’s Vertigo. The show is from Bonanza Productions Inc. in association with Spondoolie Productions and Warner Bros. Television, with executive producers Rob Thomas (“Veronica Mars,” “Party Down,” “Cupid”), Diane Ruggiero-Wright (“Veronica Mars,” “The Ex List,” “That’s Life”), Danielle Stokdyk (“Veronica Mars,” “Party Down,” “Cupid”), and Dan Etheridge (“The Carrie Diaries,” “Veronica Mars,” “Party Down”). The series stars Rose McIver as Olivia “Liv” Moore, Malcolm Goodwin as Clive Babineaux, Rahul Kohli as Dr. Ravi Chakrabarti, Robert Buckley as Major Lilywhite, David Anders as Blaine “DeBeers” McDonough, and Aly Michalka as Peyton Charles.
