In late March we got an update from Bryan Bertino on The Strangers 2 that indicated things were moving along on the project; and today, with the film heading to the Cannes Market, we finally have some casting news to share!

From the Press Release:
BLOOM announced today that Emmy Award-nominated Christina Hendricks (“Mad Men,” The Neon Demon, Drive), Bailee Madison (“Once Upon a Time,” Just Go with It), and Lewis Pullman (Aftermath, Battle of the Sexes) (pictured below, L-R) have joined the cast of The Strangers 2. Johannes Roberts (The Other Side of the Door, 47 Meters Down) will direct based on a script by Bryan Bertino (The Strangers) and Ben Ketai.

BLOOM first introduced the project at the Berlin International Film Festival and will continue sales in Cannes. The Fyzz Facility Pictures’ Wayne Marc Godfrey (Wind River, The Foreigner), Robert Jones (Centurion, The Usual Suspects), Mark Lane, and James Harris (47 Meters Down, I Am Not A Serial Killer) are producing, in association with Relativity Media. The Fyzz Facility is also serving as a financier on the project. Aviron will be distributing the film in the U.S. and Canada.

Intrepid Pictures’ Trevor Macy, who produced 2008’s The Strangers as well as successful genre titles such as The Bye Bye Man, Ouija: Origin of Evil, and Oculus, will serve as executive producer. Principal photography will begin on May 30th in Los Angeles.

The Strangers 2 follows a family whose road trip takes a turn when they arrive at a secluded mobile home park; after the power goes out, they decide to hunker down for the night in a borrowed trailer. Under the cover of darkness three familiar masked psychopaths pay them a visit to test their every limit.
