More Casting News for ABC’s The River and The CW’s Awakening
And the pilot casting news continues at a fast and furious pace as lots of talent is lining up to become the latest bits of fresh meat on horror television’s future.
As per Deadline:
Paul Blackthorne (pictured right; “Lipstick Jungle”) has just been cast in the ABC drama pilot “The River” directed by Jaume Collet-Serra. The horror thriller centers on Lincoln Cole (Joe Anderson) who, after his famous TV explorer father Dr. Emmet Cole (Bruce Greenwood) goes missing way up the Amazon, reluctantly abandons his medical studies and follows in his father’s footsteps.
Titus Welliver is set to star in The CW’s zombie thriller “Awakening”. The project is about two sisters, Jenna (Lucy Griffiths) and Jayce (Meredith Hagner), coming of age and facing off against one another amidst the beginning of a zombie uprising. Welliver will play The Hunter, a middle-aged man with silver hair and piercing eyes who is from a family of legendary zombie hunters.
