Paleyfest 2011: Supernatural – Exclusive Video and Season Spoilers
This year’s Paleyfest wound down with a huge tribute to “Supernatural” (the most badass thing horror fans *aren’t* watching. That’s right, I’m talking to YOU).
As always, the female fans outnumbered the males 500/1 and shrieked non-stop as Jared Padalecki, Jensen Ackles, Misha Collins, Jim Beaver, writers Ben Edlund and Sera Gamble, and creator Eric Kripke took the stage.
Still no word yet on a Season 7 greenlight, but Kripke & Co. teased us with a few small tidbits about upcoming episodes:
– Episode 6×20 (“The Man Who Would Be King”) marks the directing debut of Ben Edlund and, believe it or not, will be “very emotional” and “very Castiel-centric.”
– The two-hour finale is comprised of two separate episodes written by Gamble and Kripke (she doing the next to last; he doing the last), and will play more like two different episodes crammed together. “It’ll be badass [when they split it up] in reruns,” Kripke joked.
– We’re also going to meet “Castiel’s lieutenant.”
– When asked if Dean’s amulet would ever be returning, the writers said no, with Kripke joking, “It’s doing a guest spot on ‘One Tree Hill’. We wish it well.”
Sera Gamble also showed off a highlight reel featuring outtakes from “The French Mistake” as well as a few clips from the upcoming Western episode “Frontierland.” And because we’re so hardcore about this show, here it is:
