Clifton Collins, Jr. and J.T. Petty are Set to Become Hellbenders
Around these parts we’re big fans of director J.T. Petty. Through his keen eye and amazing ear for sound design, he’s created quite a few memorable fearscapes. That’s why when his name comes up we pay close attention.
According to Variety Clifton Collins, Jr. (pictured right; “The Event”) is set to star in the supernatural flick Hellbenders with J.T. Petty signed on to direct.
The script, also penned by Petty, is about a secret group of elite demonologists in a Brooklyn diocese who battle a terrifying supernatural force that threatens their lives and faith. The 3D film also stars Clancy Brown and Dan Fogler and goes into production next week.
Lawrence Mattis, Jon Denny, and David Moscow will produce through their Circle of Confusion shingle. Hellbenders is based on a graphic novel written by Petty.
