Supernatural: Paleyfest 2011 Panel Video and Unsinking the Titanic

“Supernatural” may be gone (yes, it’s on hiatus again!) until April 15th, but that doesn’t mean it’s forgotten. To help fill the time, we have video of the full “Supernatural” panel at Paleyfest 2011 along with a few pretty cool details from the upcoming Episode 17, “My Heart Will Go On”, which sees the return of two beloved female characters.

SupernaturalBelow you’ll find the two-part video from the Paleyfest panel (read more about that here), which features Jared Padalecki, Jensen Ackles, Misha Collins, Jim Beaver, writers Ben Edlund and Sera Gamble, and creator Eric Kripke.

As for what we can expect from “My Heart Will Go On”, Zap2It caught up with Jim Beaver (aka Bobby Singer) and showrunner Sera Gamble at the event, and they revealed the following:

It’s an episode in which Sam and Dean wake up in a world in which the Titanic never sank.

“Balthazar (Sebastian Roche) didn’t like the movie,” says executive producer Gamble, “so he decided to go back in time, and he un-sunk the ship. We have all these explanations as to how that could have happened.” She laughs. “There were a lot of mental knots that we had to untangle to figure that episode out, but it’s a really cool one. It’s kind of a ‘Twilight Zone’ episode.”

Changing history has a “butterfly effect,” according to Gamble. Mary Winchester (Samantha Smith) and Ellen Harvelle (Samantha Ferris), both of whom are dead, will be back in town. Beaver teases that Bobby has some exciting scenes with Ellen.

“Put it this way,” he says. “It’s a relationship between Bobby and Ellen that nobody’s ever seen on this show before, and it was a lot of fun to play.”

Both Mary AND Ellen in one episode?!? Be still our hearts. For more, including the genesis of Bobby’s character and whether or not the beloved Beaver might be on the chopping block for the season finale, hit up the above link.
