Doug Liman No Longer Directing Justice League Dark Film Adaptation

Doug Liman has stepped away from directing Dark Universe, the Justice League Dark comic-to-film adaptation that shouldn’t be confused with Universal’s classic monster cinematic universe, according to Variety. Apparently the reason for this is simply due to scheduling conflicts as Liman’s other project Chaos Walking, which lives at Lionsgate, has been greenlit. Warner Bros. is apparently already meeting with other directors and will have a replacement lined up shortly. Scott Rudin is producing while Michael Gilio is writing the script.

As we previously wrote, “…the story revolves around a dark Justice League team that consists of John Constantine, Swamp Thing, Deadman, Zatanna, and Etrigan the Demon.

There was a film version of Constantine in 2005 with Keanu Reeves as the titular character. Wes Craven directed an adaptation of Swamp Thing back in 1982 with Dick Durock playing the green monster.
