Stranger Things’ Randy Havens Has Joined Godzilla: King of the Monsters
Trick ‘r Treat and Krampus director Michael Dougherty has taken to Twitter to reveal that Randy Havens, who played Mr. Clarke in Netflix’s “Stranger Things,” has joined the cast of the upcoming giant monster film Godzilla: Kong of the Monsters. This news comes right after Dougherty, who is directing the film, revealed that there will be practical FX in the film, brought to us by the extremely talented Tom Woodruff, Jr.!
Millie Bobby Brown (“Stranger Things”), Vera Farmiga (The Conjuring, “Bates Motel”), Charles Dance (“Game of Thrones”), Kyle Chandler, Ken Watanabe (Godzilla), Sally Hawkins, and O’Shea Jackson, Jr., star.
Director Dougherty (Trick ‘r Treat) co-wrote the script with Zach Shields. The film was referenced in the recent giant monster feature Kong: Skull Island.
Alex Garcia will oversee the tentpole for Legendary. Godzilla: King of Monsters hits theaters on March 22, 2019, with the monster mash-up Godzilla vs. Kong slated to bow the following year on May 22, 2020.
Legendary and Warner Bros. announced in late 2015 that all future King Kong and Godzilla movies would be developed by Legendary and distributed by Warner Bros., starting with Kong: Skull Island. Legendary currently holds a distribution deal with Universal, but in order to re-team Godzilla and King Kong, the studio returned the rights to WB.
