Gamera and King Ghidorah Officially Join Godzilla in City Shrouded in Shadow
Huge news! Gamera will appear alongside Godzilla in the upcoming game City Shrouded in Shadow, making it the first official crossover between the two iconic Japanese Kaiju. This is incredible news to the fans of Japanese monster cinema, who have been waiting for over 50 years for the giant turtle and the radioactive lizard to share the screen, and while it’s not a movie, it’s still incredibly satisfying.
This news comes from Gematsu, who got a look at double page spread in the latest issue Japanese gaming magazine Famitsu, which also confirmed that Godzilla’s arch-nemesis King Ghidorah will be making an appearance. He joins the already announced Ultraman and Evangelion. A full house indeed.
There’s still no word on whether you’ll actually be able to play as the monsters or if you’ll just control the humans trying to escape the cities they attack, although we do know that the PS Vita version of the game has been cancelled, making it a PS4 exclusive. Developed by Granzella and published by Bandai Namco, City Shrouded in Shadow will hit Japan this fall, with an international release no doubt soon to follow.
