Last night the second season finale of “Lucifer” aired on Fox, and to say we’re anxiously awaiting Season 3 would be an understatement. Yes, the show falls on the “horror lite” side of the fence, but there’s no denying that star Tom Ellis makes for quite a compelling little devil.

If you’re a fan of the series also, today we have a peek at the first teaser for the upcoming new season, which we learned back in March will kick off with four “standalone” episodes that “dig deeper into the character stories [and] play with format a bit.

“Lucifer” returns this fall on the same night (Monday) but at a new time: 8/7c before the new Marvel series “The Gifted.”

“Lucifer” stars Tom Ellis, Lauren German, Rachael Harris, DB Woodside, Lesley-Ann Brandt, Kevin Alejandro, Aimee Garcia, and Scarlett Estevez. The series is based upon the characters created by Neil Gaiman, Sam Kieth, and Mike Dringenberg for Vertigo, from DC Entertainment.

“Lucifer” is produced by Warner Bros. Television, in association with Jerry Bruckheimer Television and Aggressive Mediocrity. Tom Kapinos (“Californication”) wrote and executive produced the pilot. The series is executive produced by Jerry Bruckheimer, Jonathan Littman, Ildy Modrovich, and Joe Henderson. Len Wiseman serves as director and executive producer. Kapinos serves as executive consultant on the series.
