It’s been the better part of a year since last we talked about director Breck Eisner’s adaptation of the comic Blood of the Innocent. Sometimes movie making is one hell of a waiting game, but when all the pieces fall into place, it’s full steam ahead. Case in point …

According to Variety Inferno Entertainment has come aboard to finance Victorian era horror-thriller Blood of the Innocent with Circle of Confusion (“The Walking Dead”) producing. Breck Eisner (The Crazies) is attached to direct, and Bill Marsilii (Deja Vu) is writing.

The project is based on the 1985 comic book series which pitted Dracula against Jack the Ripper. Blood of the Innocent was written by Rickey Shanklin and Mark Wheatley and drawn by Marc Hempel and Mark Wheatley. Marsilii’s script on what would happen if Jack the Ripper saved the world by killing off Dracula’s brides.

More soon.
