Starship Troopers: Traitor of Mars Trailer Teases the Return of a Fallen Soldier
Surprise surprise! Sony Pictures has released a trailer for a new CG movie called Starship Troopers: Traitor of Mars. The film will see the return of Casper van Dien and Dina Meyer as they voice their characters Johnny Rico and Dizzy Flores, respectively. Dizzy died in the first film, although this is suggesting that we’ve been led astray for 20 years! DeRay Davis also lends his voice to the film, which was written by Ed Neumeier (Robocop, Starship Troopers).
In this film, the bugs have invaded Mars and it’s up to the Federation to put an end to this invasion. Starship Troopers: Traitor of Mars will be getting a one-night theater screening as part of Fathom Events. It will screen on August 21st with pre-order tickets becoming available on June 19th through Fathom’s website. Each showing will also feature a special introduction by writer Ed Neumeier and actor Casper Van Dien, plus never-before-seen behind-the-scenes footage and interviews with the filmmakers.

Synopsis:
Johnny Rico has just been demoted and sent to a small satellite station on Mars whilst the Federation attacks the bugs’ home planet. While trying to train his new recruits on this remote quiet station, the bugs show up in a surprise attack but the Federation’s Fleet is too far away to help. It’s up to Rico and his Troopers to save the planet and uncover how the bugs made it so close to home.
