Devolver’s E3 Press Conference Is the Most Surreal Short Movie You’ll See This Year
This year’s E3 was infiltrated by what might be one of the most satirical and scathing presentations I’ve ever seen. The 15-minute press conference from publisher Devolver Digital, of Hotline Miami and Broforce fame, was a direct attack against early access and DLC practices, all couched in a hilarious and wildly surreal performance that featured blood, dismemberment, insults, and even a Scanners-esque head explosion.
Oh, and there was some game footage snuck in there as well.
Starting off rather innocuously, the press conference quickly devolves (no pun intended) into something straight out of the mind of David Lynch and David Cronenberg, the influences worn proudly upon the sleeves of whoever came up with this nightmare.
If you’ve got the time, I cannot recommend watching this enough. It’s wickedly enjoyable while also being something that any horror fan will get a kick out of.
Plus, hearing the line “Shut your gob, you fucking moron” was nothing short of a delight.
