Though the big studio movies have a habit of getting the lion’s share of attention, we do our best to make sure you’re in the know about cool indie projects as well. Indie filmmakers are the life’s blood of the genre, and you never know when the next Carpenter, Raimi, or Romero will rear his head.
We’re happy to debut the trailer for Oscar Madrid’s new film, The Bloodfest Club, starring Jim Ousley as addled-but-good-hearted janitor Sonny Kane. The film also stars Madison Burke as Marissa, Carson Kelley as Chris, Eddie Perino as Tango, Caroline Rouse as Tiffany, and Peter Mayer as Sensei Noddy Donigan.
Dig on this for a plot outline – “In The Bloodfest Club, a Chuck Norris-obsessed high school janitor is forced to confront the face of evil on graduation night.” Oh, Mr. Madrid. You had us at “Chuck Norris-obsessed high school janitor”.
Madrid and Ousley are launching the short film in preparation for a feature-length version of The Bloodfest Club, which is in the early stages on pre-production. The film, penned by Madrid and Ousley, will be the follow-up to their award-winning debut comedy, Hooch & Daddy-O.
