It’s been awhile since Renny Harlin directed a horror film, but he has one on the way… the only catch? It’ll mostly be in Chinese so get your reading glasses out!

Per THR, the Finnish filmmaker has signed on to helm The Hanging Coffin for Shanghai Film Group and Shanghai New Wave Films. It marks his third Chinese feature (following Skiptrace and Legend of the Ancient Sword) and is described as an action adventure/thriller featuring extreme sports, tomb raiding, and mutant creatures.

The script was penned by Tony Jaswinski, the screenwriter behind The Shallows. While The Hanging Coffin will be primarily in Chinese, both Hollywood and Chinese talent will be in front of the camera, with casting announcements to be made in the coming months, according to the production partners.

Following the success of Skiptrace, Harlin decided to fully relocate to Beijing to further explore opportunities in the growing Chinese industry. We’ll keep you posted as updates arrive.
