New War for the Planet of the Apes Featurette Goes Into the Magic of Visual FX

A new featurette from the upcoming film War for the Planet of the Apes has been released and it dives into the world of visual FX and how they create such realistic looking CG apes. It also goes into what it takes to marry such visuals with an emotional performance, one that rings true and comes across as authentic and genuine to audiences.

War for the Planet of the Apes is directed by Matt Reeves and stars Andy Serkis, Woody Harrelson, Steve Zahn, Amiah Miller, Karin Konoval, Judy Greer, and Terry Notary. It comes out July 14, 2017.

Synopsis:
Caesar and his apes are forced into a deadly conflict with an army of humans led by a ruthless Colonel. After the apes suffer unimaginable losses, Caesar wrestles with his darker instincts and begins his own mythic quest to avenge his kind. As the journey finally brings them face to face, Caesar and the Colonel are pitted against each other in an epic battle that will determine the fate of both their species and the future of the planet.
