Watch Now – Max Payne: Retribution Official Fan Film

It’s been nearly a decade since Max Payne fans were left disappointed by the big budget Hollywood adaptation with Mark Wahlberg in the titular role. But if you were left thinking that there would never be a decent Max Payne film, you’re sorely mistaken. That’s because the superb fan-made Max Payne: Retribution has just found its way online and can be viewed in the player below.

I had the pleasure of attending the world premiere of Max Payne: Retribution at London’s majestic Castle Cinema. Check out my review to understand why this is truly essential viewing.

The 44-minute film was written and directed by lifelong series fan Leroy Kincaide, with Joan James Muixi starring as the grizzled detective on a path of vengeance. Jon Campling, Holly Woodhouse, and Max Cavenham also appear, with Kincaide himself playing ruthless gangster Jack Lupino.

The original Max Payne video game was published by Rockstar Games back in 2001, with a sequel following in 2003. The third and supposedly final entry in the series was later released in 2012. Even if we never get another game, at least we now have one incredible fan film to enjoy.
