Sanchez Gets Altered
All has been quiet on the Altered front, the film that marks the directorial return of Blair Witch co-creator Eduardo Sanchez. We knew the film was in the can a while ago, but no release plans have been formally announced yet, other than that Rogue will be putting it out in 2007.
Sanchez broke the silence to Fangoria today, discussing why his new movie, about a group of friends who were abducted by aliens and try to get revenge when they actually capture one of the E.T.s, is worlds away from Blair Witch. “The creature is awesome, and the movie is a really fun ride. Just don’t expect a Saw or Hostel, people. It’s more like those old horror films from the ’80s.”
While that makes me all tingly in my nether regions, the same was said of James Gunn’s Slither before its release, and that didn’t exactly generate box office gold. Still, Sanchez seems proud of his new film and the plot has plenty of room for some nasty setpieces, so hopefully it won’t suffer the same fate.
Check out the link above for some new on-set pics and the story as to why it took Sanchez so long to get back in the director’s chair; then be sure to hit the film’s official site for more on its creation!
