Polaroid Scores BIG on Social Media
The Weinsteins’ next horror film, Polaroid, is developing some HUGE social media numbers. Thus far the trailer for this terror tale has garnered 23 million views in one week between YouTube, Facebook, and Twitter combined.

Polaroid stars Kathryn Prescott (“Finding Carter”), Mitch Pileggi (“The X-Files”), Grace Zabriskie (The Grudge, “Santa Clarita Diet”), Tyler Young (Eyewitness), Keenan Tracey (“Bates Motel”), Samantha Logan (“The Fosters”), Priscilla Quintana (Stranded), Madelaine Petsch (“Riverdale”), and Javier Botet (The Conjuring 2, Mama, IT).
Norwegian director Lars Klevberg shot the film from a screenplay by Blair Butler. Dimension Films optioned the rights last year after Klevberg’s short made a splash at festivals and won Best Short for him and Best Cinematography for Pål Ulvik Rokseth at the Los Angeles Horror Competition short film festival.
Look for Polaroid in theaters on August 25th.
Producing the film are Chris Bender, Jake Wagner, and Jake Weiner of Good Fear, producers of the original short; John Einar Hagen and Petter Onstad Lokke of El Dorado Films; and Roy Lee of Vertigo Films.

High school loner Bird Fitcher has no idea what dark secrets are tied to the mysterious Polaroid vintage camera she stumbles upon, but it doesn’t take long to discover that those who have their picture taken meet a tragic end.
