After playing a lovable, romantic, and charming paper salesman in “The Office,” John Krasinski has been taking roles that are steering him away from being typecast, and this new venture is no different. As we learned back in March, Krasinski signed on to direct Paramount/Platinum Dunes’ A Quiet Place, in which he will also be appearing opposite his wife, Emily Blunt.

Now we’ve had some clarification that he’s rewriting the script as well. The film is being produced by Michael Bay, Andrew Form, and Brad Fuller.

Krasinski and Blunt came aboard the project well after it had been picked up. Originally, it was written and set to be directed by Scott Beck and Bryan Woods, who have just been attached to another film titled Haunt.

Plot details are unknown at this time, but A Quiet Place will be going into production this fall with an anticipated release date of April 13, 2018, so a basic idea of what it’s about should be released over the coming months.
