Looks like everyone spoke too soon in terms of the casting of Michael Sheen for the Tim Burton adaptation of the ever so soapy vampire tale Dark Shadows.
In a recent interview with MTV the actor dropped the following on fans, “I, I, can’t really talk about it,” Sheen said when asked about the project. “I’m not going to be doing it, so…” Well then. That’s that!
Despite the loss of Sheen, things are shaping up nicely with Johnny Depp, Jackie Earle Haley, Eva Green, Bella Heathcote, Michelle Pfeiffer, Thomas McDonell, Gulliver McGrath, Chloe Moretz, and Helena Bonham Carter set to star in the film.
Seth Grahame-Smith will be writing and Depp will also produce with Graham King’s GK Flms. Depp had obtained feature rights to “Dark Shadows” in 2007 from the estate of Dan Curtis, the producer/director who created it. The series aired weekdays on ABC from 1966 to 1971 with 1,225 episodes.
