Come to Dread Central’s Bicoastal Phoenix Forgotten Screenings and Go Home With a Mini-Poster!
We announced a few days ago that Dread Central will be hosting free screenings of the Ridley (Alien) Scott-produced UFO thriller Phoenix Forgotten on July 31 in both Los Angeles, California, and Brooklyn, New York. Now we’ve just been informed that those in attendance will be going home with the following glow-in-the-dark mini-poster to mark the event (while supplies last).
The only other way to get said poster will be to attend this year’s San Diego Comic-Con!
Based on the actual late ’90s Arizona UFO sightings, Phoenix Forgotten was directed by Justin Barber, who co-wrote the film with Maze Runner series screenwriter T.S. Nowlin. Courtney (An American Haunting) Solomon also served as one of the film’s producers.
DreadVision’s LA screening will take place at Hollywood’s swanky Arena Cinelounge (1625 North Las Palmas; 323-924-1644) and will be hosted by blogger/filmmaker and Dread buddy SpookyDan Walker. The show starts at 7:30 pm.
New Yorkers can catch the film (and eat a great meal in the process!) at the world-famous Brooklyn Alamo Drafthouse Cinema (445 Albee Square West; 718-513-2547). Dread’s Tony Timpone will provide the meet & greet there. The fun begins at 7 pm at the Alamo.
These DreadVision Phoenix Forgotten screenings will be free shows; to obtain tickets, send an email to screenings@dreadcentral.com. Please tell us which show you want to attend by listing “Phoenix Forgotten: LA” or “Phoenix Forgotten: NY” in your subject line and provide your full name. Offer is good for you and your guests. We will confirm your RSVP, but seating is not guaranteed, so arrive early.
The storyline: Phoenix Forgotten is a chilling revelation based on the true events of March 13, 1997, when a strange pattern of lights appeared over Phoenix, Arizona. The movie tells the story of three high school students who went into the desert to document this phenomenon. They were never seen again. Two decades later, the sister of one of the missing teens returns to investigate, suspecting a massive cover-up by the government and local law enforcement. But nothing could prepare her for the shocking discovery of the footage from that fateful expedition… and now the terrifying truth will finally be exposed!
Jamie Righetti of Film School Rejects called Phoenix Forgotten “the perfect Friday night escape…titillating,” while Coming Soon’s Chris Alexander said, “Phoenix Forgotten is expertly-paced and immersive.” DailyDead’s Heather Wixson noted that Phoenix Forgotten “completely took me back to my high school days of being obsessed with ‘The X-Files,’ science fiction, and the question of whether or not we are truly alone in this universe.”
These exclusive events are presented by our pals at 20th Century Fox Home Entertainment, which is releasing Phoenix Forgotten on Digital HD on July 18 and Blu-ray/DVD on August 1.
