The BFI Will Celebrate Stephen King Throughout September
The BFI Southbank has announced that from September 1st through October 3rd, they will be honoring the 70th birthday of horror legend Stephen King by screening several films based on his works as well as a handful of movies that he himself hand-picked!
Throughout the month, you’ll see screenings such as Carrie, The Shawshank Redemption, Stand By Me, Salem’s Lot, The Shining, Creepshow, Christine, Children of the Corn, Firestarer, Maximum Overdrive, Pet Sematary, and even a preview of IT! As for King’s hand-picked selections, those include The Hitcher, The Changeling, Night of the Demon, The Stepfather, and Village of the Damned.
There will also be a special Birthday Weekender (21st-23rd September) including a Stephen King Film Quiz and a Stephen King Summit.
Tickets will be on sale to BFI members from Tuesday 1 August and general public from Tuesday 8 August.
