Rawhead Rex 4K Restoration Trailer Unleashed
Not content to simply unleash director George Pavlou’s 1986 adaptation of Clive Barker’s Rawhead Rex on Blu-ray, Kino Repertory wants everyone to take a bite out of the trailer for the upcoming theatrical re-release preceding the disc.
Kino is hoping your appetite for this nearly thirty-year-old chiller is equally insatiable since they are going the extra mile giving it the full 4K treatment. David Dukes, Kelly Piper, Hugh O’Conor, Niall O’Brien, and Donal McCann star in what was one of the first Clive Barker tales to make its way to the silver screen.
Rawhead Rex returns to the silver screen later this year, followed by the Blu-ray. To get your mouth watering, they’ve unveiled a restored trailer and some sweet new artwork.
Synopsis:
Rawhead Rex is a demon, alive for millennia, trapped in the depths of hell and waiting for release. He is held by an ancient seal, imprisoned for centuries in a barren field near the hamlet of Rathmore, Ireland. Over time this gruesome legacy has been forgotten, dismissed as an odd pre-Christian myth, until Tom Garron (McCann) decides to plow the field his ancestors knew better than to disturb. The seal is broken, and an unspeakable evil is unleashed – on a rampage of blood and lust.
Howard Hallenbeck (Dukes), an American historian on a working vacation in Ireland, discovers on the stained glass windows of a local church a series of scenes illustrating the reign of terror of Rawhead Rex. But the one piece of glass depicting the defeat of the monster is missing. Howard is desperate for an answer – for Rawhead Rex is on the loose, and he is insatiable!
