The BiFan Fil Festival is taking place now in South Korea and they awarded cult director and producer Álex de la Iglesia with a Lifetime Achievement award on their Spanish Film Night. The director told those in attendance, “When you meet someone who is fan of genre films, you automatically have a new friend. Genre films unite us all!” Pictures of him accepting the award can be seen below.

Iglesia has directed such titles as El día de la Bestia (The Day of the Beast), Perdita Durango (Dance With the Devil), Acción Mutante, and The Oxford Murders. His films often blend elements of mystery, action, thriller, and horror, effortlessly combining them into final products that were engaging and exciting, not to mention very unique.
