Remembering George A. Romero by Sean Sansom

What a guy… best described as genuine and honest. Despite the towering stature, his disarming personality and contagious smile made you feel at ease – calming that inner nerd and making you forget, even just temporarily, that this is the same man that messed up your mind as a kid.

For those fortunate enough to have worked with George, can attest to his charm and humility. He was very passionate about his films, the lengthy and arduous process is immense. He was the Captain, yet he relied on his crew, his “family,” to help him get through it. Always open to suggestions and questions, never an ego.

He indeed treated us like his extended family, and you would do anything for him because of that. Not only was he like a distant relative you wish you had, but because he was influential in your love of horror movies, and you owed him that much at least.

Never forgotten and always a legend, rest in peace George.
