Yes, Scream 4 was a disaster at the box office, raking in only a fraction of its budget. Still, that’s not stopping Dimension from taking to Twitter to start teasing a fifth entry into the franchise.
“How much do you love @Scream4? How badly do you want #Scream5? Come up with a clever tweet and we’ll RT!” challenged the official Dimension Films Twitter account.
Could be something. Could be nothing. It does, however, show that the franchise hasn’t been shitcanned by the studio, and that’s a good thing.
Stand by for news on when you can expect Scream 4 on Blu-ray and DVD.
Scream 4 stars Neve Campbell, Courteney Cox, David Arquette, Britt Robertson, Emma Roberts, Hayden Panettiere, Rory Culkin, Nico Tortorella, Mary McDonnell, Alison Brie, Anthony Anderson, Aimee Teegarden, and Marielle Jaffe with confirmed cameos by Anna Paquin, Kristen Bell, Shenae Grimes, and Lucy Hale.
Scream 4 (review and more here) is in theatres now if you can still find it. To stay on top of things, be sure to follow @wescraven on Twitter.
Synopsis
“Sidney Prescott (Neve Campbell), now the author of a self-help book, returns home to Woodsboro on the last stop of her book tour. There she reconnects with Sheriff Dewey (David Arquette) and Gale (Courteney Cox), who are now married, as well as her cousin Jill (Emma Roberts) and her Aunt Kate (Mary McDonnell). Unfortunately Sidney’s appearance also brings about the return of Ghostface, putting Sidney, Gale, and Dewey, along with Jill, her friends, and the whole town of Woodsboro in danger.”
