We have some incredibly tragic news to share as Fox 5 Atlanta is reporting that the body of special effects technician Joseph Livolsi, who was shot multiple times, was found in his apartment. Police state there is no suspect or motive for the crime at this time.

Per the site, Livolsi had just finished working on the video game-to-film adaptation of Rampage and was set to begin working on Mike Dougherty’s Godzilla: King of the Monsters, but friends began to get worried when he failed to show up. After a few days, they received the call that his body was found.

Livolsi didn’t live in Atlanta but was renting a room there while he worked on these films. Eric Cook, a friend of his, states that he was a “real stand-up guy… there’s nothing bad you can say about Joe; everybody loved him. Joe was of the mindset to live as cheaply as he could and send as much money home to his family as he could. I hope whoever did this gets what’s coming to them because this is a guy who did absolutely nothing wrong, was just here trying to provide for his family… it’s not good.

Livolsi also worked on films such as Total Recall, Tremors 3, Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides, Furious 7, Captain America: Civil War, and much more. It seems that one of his specialties was acting as a pyrotechnician on sets.

We send our deepest condolences to his family and friends. What a terribly tragic event and such a loss to so many. We mourn your passing, Joe.
