Andy Muschietti Is Confirmed for IT Part 2
We haven’t even gotten the first part of Stephen King’s IT yet, but the hype and excitement around the film is so big that director Andy Muschietti has stated that he is confirmed to return for the second film.
While he said during last night’s #ScareDiego Q&A that a Part 2 is definitely on its way, while speaking with Cinema Blend, Muschietti confirmed his own involvement, stating, “I’m going to do Part 2 before any other thing.” When asked if this would come before his take on “RoboTech,” which he was recently connected with, he replied, “Yea, RoboTech is a longer shot. We don’t have a script yet.”
Directed by Andy Muschietti, IT stars Jaeden Lieberher, Finn Wolfhard, Nicholas Hamilton, Jack Dylan Grazer, Wyatt Oleff, Chosen Jacobs, Jeremy Ray Taylor, and Sophia Lillis with Bill Skarsgard, who portrays Pennywise. In addition, creature performer Javier Botet has signed on as The Leper, and Owen Teague plays Patrick Hocksetter, part of a group of bullies who torment The Losers’ Club.
Stephen King’s IT has been rated R for “violence/horror, bloody images, and for language”. It hits theaters on September 8th.
Synopsis:
“When children begin to disappear in the town of Derry, Maine, a group of young kids are faced with their biggest fears when they square off against an evil clown named Pennywise, whose history of murder and violence dates back for centuries.”
