#SDCC17: Watch the Entire Stranger Things Comic-Con Panel
This year’s San Diego Comic-Con may be over, but that doesn’t mean our coverage is going to stop! Today we’ve got the full panel for Netflix’s “Stranger Things,” which will see its second season premiere this Halloween season!
Check it out below, but please note that we had to turn off the camera for the trailer and our phone had a 20-minute recording length, so that explains the other cut.
In an interview with Gold Derby, director/producer Shawn Levy explained, “Will Byers is very much at the center of several intersecting challenges, threats in Season 2, and I think overall the forces of evil that are inherent in Season 2 make that Demogorgon look quaint in retrospect.”
And if you’re hoping for Barb’s return, the Duffer brothers squashed your dreams during the SDCC panel. Per TV Guide: The first audience question was from — surprise! — Shannon Purser, who played fan-favorite Barb on the show. She asked if Barb was coming back for Season 2, which was, sadly, a resounding “no.” That said, Season 2 will deal with Barb’s death and give us some #Justice4Barb. “She will be avenged,” swear the Duffers.
Mark your calendars for October 27th as the day we return to Hawkins, Indiana!
“Stranger Things” Season 2 stars Winona Ryder as Joyce Byers, David Harbour as Chief Jim Hopper, Finn Wolfhard as Mike Wheeler, Noah Schnapp as Will Byers, Millie Bobby Brown as Eleven, Caleb McLaughlin as Lucas Sinclair, Gaten Matarazzo as Dustin Henderson, Cara Buono as Karen Wheeler, Natalia Dyer as Nancy Wheeler, Charlie Heaton as Jonathan Byers, Joe Keery as Steve Harrington, Dacre Montgomery as Billy, Sadie Sink as Max, Sean Astin as Bob Newby, and Paul Reiser as Dr. Owens.
About “Stranger Things” Season 2:
It’s 1984, and the citizens of Hawkins, Indiana, are still reeling from the horrors of the Demogorgon and the secrets of Hawkins Lab. Will Byers has been rescued from the Upside Down; but a bigger, sinister entity still threatens those who survived.
