Bruce Campbell Hosting Interactive Trivia Show at The Michigan Theater
On August 15th, horror icon Bruce Campbell will be releasing Hail to the Chin: Further Confessions of a B-Movie Actor, his follow-up to the 2001 autobiography If Chins Could Kill: Confessions of a B-Movie Actor. To celebrate this release, Campbell is doing a book tour across the United States (info and tickets here), including a stop at the historic Michigan Theater in Ann Arbor, MI, where he will be hosting Last Fan Standing, an interactive trivia game!
Hosted by the Michigan Theater and Nicola’s Books, An Evening with Bruce Campbell featuring Last Fan Standing will take place Wednesday, August 30th at 7:30pm. Here’s how the whole thing works:
Last Fan Standing is an interactive trivia quest built from four primary pillars of content, that include: fantasy, horror, sci-fi and superheroes. Not your average quiz show or trivia contest, Last Fan Standing tests your knowledge about the things that really matter. Through provided “audience response devices” (clickers if you insist on getting technical), each audience member participates in a series of multiple choice questions, where the players with the fastest-correct answers advance to the Podium Rounds. The Podium Rounds bring the top four (4) players from the audience to a winner-take-all battle of Sci-Fi, Fantasy, Superheroes, and Horror based trivia. After each round the player with the lowest score is eliminated, until there is only one….Last Fan Standing!
People can also bring any number of copies of Hail to the Chin for Bruce to sign, although he won’t be adding in any quotes or salutations. Additionally, fans can bring ONE extra piece of memorabilia for Bruce to autograph (on top of the book and not instead) but that’s the limit. Sorry folks, I don’t make the rules, I just lay them out. Tickets range from $35 to $65 and can be purchased here.
I’ll definitely be at this event, so any Dread readers that want to hang out and maybe grab some crack fries over at Hop Cat or a beer at Ashley’s (only if you’re 21 or over, mind you), let me know!
