The Nightmare Before Christmas Is Getting a Follow-up!
Now, before you go getting excited, the follow-up to the 1993 stop-motion film The Nightmare Before Christmas is going to come in comic book form, so don’t expect brand new tunes to sing along with.
Per THR, Tokyopop has secured the rights for an official follow-up to The Nightmare Before Christmas, the Disney film presented by Tim Burton and directed by Henry Sellick. Per the site, the comic series “…will initially be serialized as full-color single issues released to comic book stores, before being collected in two different formats simultaneously, in full-color trade paperbacks and black and white ‘pocket-sized manga’ volumes.”
Tokyopop already did a manga adaptation of the original film, the cover of which can be seen below. You can pick up a copy of that right here.
The series will be written by DJ Milky with art from Studio DICE and will follow Zero, Jack Skellington’s ghost dog, as he gets lost inside of Christmas Town. TitledĀ Zero’s Journey, the anticipated release date is spring of 2018.
