The fifth season of Showtime’s successful serial killer series “Dexter” wasn’t exactly a banner year: The show recycled several familiar storylines, featured some bland performances from its guest stars (although Peter Weller was brilliant) and concluded in the most unambitious, frustrating way imaginable. So, hey, who’s excited to own it on Blu-ray/DVD?

These sets are scheduled to hit store shelves on August 16th. No special features have been announced as of yet, but expect Paramount to keep in step with previous releases – another way of saying don’t expect much.

Synopsis
In Season 5 Dexter has to get in touch with things he never felt before: guilt, sorrow, self-forgiveness. There is blowback from his reckless behavior.” Along with the series regulars Peter Weller, Julia Stiles, Maria Doyle Kennedy, April Lee Hernandez, and Shawn Hatosy, and a surprisingly returning Julie Benz are all on tap for more Dark Passenger related mayhem.
