Thriller 3D to Play at 74th Venice Film Festival
Michael Jackson’s “Thriller”, the only music video to be inducted into the Library of Congress’ National Film Registry, will be playing at the 74th Venice Film Festival as an out-of-competition event. But what makes it really fun is that it will be a 3D conversion of the iconic clip.
The announcement was made by the Estate of Michael Jackson (per Dark Horizons), who explain that the 3D conversion was handled by director John Landis, who used the original 35mm film negative. Additionally, the audio was updated to Dolby Atmos standards.
The Venice Film Festival runs from August 30th through September 9th.
