The Shape of Water Outlined in 5 New Images

Del Toro has been quick to note that although The Shape of Water has been rated R for “sexual content, graphic nudity, violence and language“, this is NOT a horror film, writing, “The Shape of Water is NOT a horror movie. It’s a bit of a fairy tale story – a fable set in early 1960’s America.”
The film stars Sally Hawkins, Octavia Spencer, Richard Jenkins, Michael Shannon, Doug Jones, and Michael Stuhlbarg. It swims into theaters on December 8th.
Synopsis:
From master storyteller Guillermo del Toro comes The Shape of Water – an other-worldly fairy tale, set against the backdrop of Cold War era America circa 1963. In the hidden high-security government laboratory where she works, lonely Elisa (Sally Hawkins) is trapped in a life of silence and isolation. Elisa’s life is changed forever when she and co-worker Zelda (Octavia Spencer) discover a secret classified experiment.
