Arnold Schwarzenegger Back for Terminator 6 with James Cameron and David Ellison
Could it be that after all these years we’re getting another “good” Terminator film? Since T2 the franchise has seen its fair share of nonsense, but hot on the heels of July’s statement from James Cameron that he’d be interested in returning to the series comes an interesting statement from the T-800 himself.
“In March next year, I am shooting Terminator 6. James Cameron and David Ellison are back on board, and then comes a Conan,” Schwarzenegger said to German publication Kleinezeitung as translated by The Playlist.
Cameron said in July, “I am in discussions with David Ellison, who is the current rights holder globally for the Terminator franchise, and the rights in the US market revert to me under US copyright law in a year and a half so he and I are talking about what we can do. Right now we are leaning toward doing a three-film arc and reinventing it. We’ll put more meat on the bones if we get past the next couple of hurdles as and when we announce that.”
We guess everything worked out! Now the only question is: Do we get the aged “Pops” Terminator, or do they go the younger CG Arnold route we got glimpses of in both Terminator: Salvation and Terminator: Genysis? We’d prefer the latter. What say you?
