The Conjuring 2 Star Joins Hulu’s Locke & Key Adaptation
Frances O’Connor (The Conjurin 2) has joined the cast of Hulu’s “Locke & Key” adaptation, per THR, as Nina Locke, the mother of the three siblings that the story centers around. The pilot episode for the series was originally going to be directed by Scott Derrickson, who has since bowed out and been replaced by IT director Andy Muschietti.
Hulu has given a pilot order to “Locke & Key,” a one-hour horror/fantasy drama adaptation of the IDW comic by Joe Hill (The Fireman) and artist Gabriel Rodriguez (Little Nemo). The project comes from Hill, Carlton Cuse (“Lost,” “Bates Motel,” “The Strain”), and IDW Entertainment.
Locke & Key revolves around three siblings who, after the gruesome murder of their father, move to their ancestral home in Maine only to find the house has magical keys that give them a vast array of powers and abilities. Little do they know, a devious demon also wants the keys and will stop at nothing to attain them.
