Fox Announces New Buffy the Vampire Slayer Box Set That Offers Nothing New
20th Century Fox Home Entertainment has announced that they will be releasing a new box set for Joss Whedon’s “Buffy the Vampire Slayer” on September 19th. For those hoping for a Blu-ray set, I’m sorry to disappoint but this 20th anniversary set is all on DVD and it comes with absolutely no new extras of any kind on the discs. In fact, the only extra that fans will get here is a new, “Official Buffy Dark Horse Comic Book Featuring Exclusive Cover and Coloring Sheet Inside Packaging as a Gift With Purchase for Limited Time Only.” That’s it. All special features on the discs are confirmed to be material from previous seasons/releases.
The box set features all 144 episodes across 39 discs.
Synopsis:
The teen years can be brutal. Especially when you’re Buffy Summers (Sarah Michelle Gellar) — a Sunnydale High School student destined to slay supernatural, blood-sucking baddies instead of hanging out at the mall. Over the seven seasons of this thrilling, witty show, Buffy struggles to maintain allies in the fight against evil, while also engaging in on-off romances with a moody vampire (David Boreanaz) or two (James Marsters). Also starring Alyson Hannigan, Anthony Head and Nicholas Brendon.
