Dropping $125 million on a zombie film may seem like a risky business proposition – especially when horror films rarely cross over the $100 million mark. But Paramount seems determined to load its adaptation of Max Brooks’ World War Z with so much talent that people will be afraid to miss it. Read on to find out the latest to join the battle.
Deadline New York is reporting that Ed Harris (pictured, right), Matthew Fox and Julia Levy-Boeken are in talks to join the zombie apocalypse epic alongside Brad Pitt, Mireille Enos and James Badge Dale. No word on whom these folks may be playing, but the film finally begins production this month after an endless series of false starts and seemingly broken promises.
Paramount had initial cold feet when it came to footing the entire bill, and we told you back in March how David Ellison’s Skydance signed on to assist with financing – as did another unnamed party.
Marc Foster is still attached to direct and now that this is becoming a fast reality, expect a lot more where WWZ is concerned. Paramount is eyeballing a summer 2012 release date, but we’ll keep you posted as we get closer.
